Standing on its own, or accompanying a dish, the perfect cocktail is versatile and a welcome addition to any food trip. GRID x Tanduay: Cocktail Culture is a series following mixologist Dondz Bolante around the Philippines as he crafts cocktails inspired by the flavors of the different regions.

The northern city of Vigan has endured throughout the years as a historic site of Philippine culture. Its cobblestone streets and Old Hispanic houses set the scene for Dondz’s latest cocktail creation, which puts a new spin on an old, beloved classic. The fruity flavors of citrus and apricots are made even sweeter with a splash of honey, perfect to pair with a thick slice of the city’s world-famous bagnet. Light and refreshing, this pair of treats is a great end to a day of strolling through The Heritage City.

Summer Fling

15 mL lemon juice
15 mL orange juice
2 barspoons apricot jam
15 mL honey
60 mL Tanduay Rum Gold

 

How To Mix:

Stir together lemon juice, orange juice, apricot jam, and honey in a shaker tin. Add rum and ice and shake well. Pour mixture into a glass and garnish with an orange peel. Best served with bagnet. 

Sip and enjoy!
